NORRISTOWN, PA – A man was sentenced to jail for leaving the scene of two crashes in Montgomery County in 2018, The Phoenix Reporter and Item reports.
28-year-old Timothy Williams Jr. of Norristown will have to serve 75 days to 23 months in the county jail as part of a plea agreement accepted by a Montgomery County judge.
Williams pleaded guilty to charges of accidents involving damage to attended vehicles or property and fleeing or attempting to elude police. The two incidents occurred between April and May 2018 in West Norriton and Lower Providence.
Police said that at about 10:38 p.m. on May 2, 2018, they attempted to stop Williams after he made an illegal U-turn at the intersection of Egypt Road and Willowbrook Drive in West Norriton. He refused, went in the wrong direction, struck two parked vehicles, and then hit a residential porch. According to police, Williams fled the scene on foot and left a female passenger behind.
Williams was previously wanted for another hit-and-run incident, one that occurred in April 2018 on Ridge Pike in Lower Providence. In that case, a driver said his vehicle was rear-ended by another vehicle that left the scene. The vehicle that fled was traced to a woman who said she suspected Williams had taken it without her permission.
Along with being sentenced to jail time, Williams was ordered to complete one year of probation following parole.
