PHILADELPHIA, PA – Police are searching for the driver involved in a fatal crash Tuesday afternoon in the Overbrook Park section of Philadelphia, WPVI reports.
This is an update to a previous story.
Authorities say the driver was a female juvenile who ran from the scene after her Ford slammed into a Honda on Haverford Avenue at about 2 p.m. According to police, both cars were speeding when the Honda, which was going in the wrong direction, crossed in front of the Ford and the vehicles collided. The Honda was then pushed into five parked vehicles.
Witnesses said the young woman driving the Ford ran away on Haverford Avenue after the crash, taking a baby who had been in the car with her.
Police said they are not looking for any other suspects in the case.
The driver of the Honda was pronounced dead at the scene. He was identified as 35-year-old Chad Anthony Grey. Seven other people were injured in the accident, including two children.
