PHILADELPHIA, PA – Police are investigating an accident that killed a pedestrian in South Philadelphia Sunday night, Fox 29 reports.
The incident happened at about 11:40 p.m. at the intersection of Broad Street and Washington Avenue, when a man walking against a red light was struck by a car. The pedestrian died from his injuries Monday at Jefferson Hospital. His identity has not yet been released.
The driver was also taken to Jefferson Hospital with facial injuries, and was listed in stable condition.
Investigators do not suspect alcohol use was a contributing factor in the crash. The driver stopped at the scene and so far no charges are pending.
